Hawaii's first Indoor Cold Spark Fountains, Maui Sparks. This machine, called "Sparkular", produces a cold spark fountain effect which is a simulation of what is known as the gerb effect. A gerb is a fountain of sparks. reaching 1200° F, that is usually shot from the ground up. The Sparkular machine creates the same effect with temperatures reaching only 110° F. This cold spark technology reduces the risk of fire to 0%, allowing them to be used indoors as well as outdoors.
Showven’s patented proprietary technology uses a combination of physics and electro-magnetics to achieve a cold burning spark with no internal ignition. The machine uses a proprietary blend of granulated metals that is heated and propelled through a chamber. As the heated granules hits the air, a sparkle effect is created.
It has 90% less smoke than a traditional gerb fountain effect, and there is no pyro smell. Sparkular fountains truly emits a cold spark without any source of ignition, and this is what makes it so unique.
Unlike traditional effects that are one-offs, this machine can be used over and over again in the same location throughout a performance.
Sparkular is non-combustible and does not burn chemicals.

SAFETY NOTE: Buyer Beware! Not all cold spark machines are the same! Our spark fountains are "The Original" Sparkular fountains, made in China, by Showven, the company that designed, developed and patented them and made their debut at the 2016 LDI show in Las Vegas. As with any popular technology, it is inevitable that they wil be copied and sold on the market as genuine. Several companies here in Hawaii, and on the Mainland, are offering these "knock-offs". They are made with inferior materials, are unreliable and therefore pose a higher risk to operate, and have actually started fires. We control our spark fountains witha proprietary controller, with monitors the temperature of the machine as well as the height, duration and density of the spark fountain. Most of the "knock offs" are controlled by a simple hand-held remote control, or a simple DMX controller, which does not monitor the temperature. We tested our spark fountains with an extensive list of materials, for flammability and they all passed without any burning, scorching or ignition. We have also reviewed our spark fountains with the Maui County Fire Prevention Bureau.

Maui Sparks Spark Fountains are not only more cost efficient, but are relatively odorless compared to traditional fireworks. There are no safety issues typically associated with professional pyrotechnics. Our spark fountains are non-flammable and activate at a temperature of 62 degrees, eliminating the risk of burning or catching anything on fire. They are actually cooler than body temperature.
